On October 26, 2024, Stara Drukarnia in Łódź was filled with the magic of art. That evening was the opening of the exhibition Hieroglyphic Monads by Piotr Piad Podsiadły — an artist who combines tradition with modernity, technique with sensuality and geometry with emotion in his works.
Piotr Karol Podsiadły, also known as Piad (born 16 March 1997 in Opoczno) is a Polish interdisciplinary artist. In the years 2016-2022 he studied graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, specializing in multimedia. In 2022, he earned a Master of Arts degree and won the Viva! Photo Awards. In his work, Piad explores the relationship between old and new media, nature and the absolute, and man and the universe. A key role is played by the motive of the handwriting. Although he uses modern technologies, his works always maintain an organic, close-to reality character, rooted in traditional art media.
Instead of telling stories, Piad creates situations that the viewer can interpret through the prism of his own experiences, combining technique with sensuality and geometry with desire. In his art, the awesomeness comes to the fore.
Piotr Podsiadly's work is a real dialogue between man and the universe. His works reveal the relationship between the spiritual and the material, inspiring viewers to reflect more deeply. Hieroglyphic Monads It's not just images — is an invitation to discover the meanings that lie somewhere in between.
Anyone who visited Stara Drukarnia that evening could feel the unique atmosphere of these works. Traditional symbols, modern forms, depth of emotion — all this filled the space, creating an experience that lasts a long time in memory.
The vernissage was more than just an artistic event. Hieroglyphic Monads is an award given by the Stara Drukarnia as part of the competition Rejvach, which took place during the festival Ravekjavik. This is where young artists can count on support in promoting their art.
